Frequently asked questions

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept most forms of payment including cash, certified check, email money transfer or paypal. You will recieve the invoice for your puppy purchase from us with a link for payment, to keep it simple for us and our buyers. The only form of payment we do not accept are personal checks.

We have done payment plans and our one stipulation is that the puppy has to be paid in full before he/she leaves. The puppy cannot be held here longer than 8 weeks old without prior agreed arrangements.

Generally - when you decide you want a puppy & have been approved through our application process, a $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold. This deposit will be subtracted from your amount owing, and remaining amount is due upon pickup (prior to puppy leaving).

When can I take my puppy home?

Our puppies stay with us until they are minimum 8 weeks of age. At that time, you may schedule your time to come pick up your new best friend! (Of course, you are welcome to visit by scheduled appointment after all of our puppies have been vaccinated) Generally we set a puppy pick up day for our litters, however, we will work with you to arrange a time that will work best for you.

What kind of health testing do you do on your dogs?

We do our absolute best on providing high quality puppies that come from high quality adults. All of our adult dogs have their hips & elbows x-rayed and certified with qualifying passing scores. We only breed adults that are anatomically correct and within breed standards. We do a full Embark genetic panel test on every adult. This tests for over 250+ genetic diseases, including DM and MDR1. We can certainly provide their test results of each if needed. We also do not ever breed dogs that have any temperament issues.

Do you offer tours of your facility?

Yes, we do. We are happy to show you our happy place Monday-Friday by appointment only. Please contact us for further information.

Do you offer training?

We will start our puppies with basic training. This includes crating, socialization, manners, and basic commands. If you wish to purchase a fully trained dog, please contact us for pricing and further information.

How are puppies delivered to their new owners?

We always encourage our puppy buyers to come to our kennel to pick up their puppy. If that is not possible, we will arrange or help you arrange a flight for your puppy. At 8 weeks of age our puppies will safely fit under the seat on a plane ride. Once they pass 8 weeks of age, they are getting a little too big to fit under the seat. Domestic airlines do generally allow pets in the baggage compartment of flights at 12 weeks, and we may be able to fly with your puppy to you, or help you arrange a flight for puppy to go on. We do not put puppies in the baggage compartment of any plane until minimum 12 weeks of age. If you choose this option, we will keep your puppy for the extra 4 weeks, and start them on basic obedience and other training.

How do I socialize my new German Shepherd Puppy?

It's easy for us to socialize our pups with other German Shepherd puppies and adults because we have a few GSD's. All our puppies have ample opportunities to interact with other puppies and reliable adult German Shepherds before we place them in their forever homes. Our puppies learn all the healthy dog communication signals in these interactions. The first 8 weeks, and continually until the first 16 weeks of a puppies life is a critical socialization window. You want your dog (after vet check and vaccination, of course) to be a well rounded, socialized dog, with the ability to control any reactivity from a young age. Socializing your puppy properly is a crucial step in training. This will make adulthood much easier! Proactive training, will be better than reactive.

Keep the whole experience short. Your pup may have 5 interactions that are 30 seconds to 2 minutes each and after 10 minutes your pup is ready to go decompress and absorb all they learned through the healthy interactions. Be mindful of your dogs body language. Is your puppy always being chased? Your pup probably isn't having fun. It's trying to escape.Tail tucked? Time to have a break.

  • Hackles up? That's an involuntary defensive reaction. It's time for a break.

  • Is your puppy continually trying to hide behind you or under someone or something? This is an escape and avoid mechanism. It is important to listen to those cues.

Don't allow another dog to bully your puppy! Advocate for your pup and focus on lots of short, fun experiences.Training your puppy should be a very rewarding experience for both owner and puppy. If you are unsure, we recommend hiring a professional trainer local to you, to work with you and your dog directly to achieve the results you desire. Practice makes perfect!

What should I buy, to have my home and family ready to welcome our new German Shepherd puppy?

We start all of our puppies on Purina Pro Plan Puppy dry kibble food. We will include coupons for our new owners to purchase this food, if they wish to continue feeding it. Our puppy packages come with a small supply of food. You may wait to get the coupon when you pick up your puppy to purchase, however if you choose not too we will provide enough for you to slowly switch to the food brand of your choice.

Other items we recommend having on hand for your new puppies arrival include;

  • Bowls/Feeder

  • Crate

  • Collar/Leash

  • High Value Training Treats (Small liver bites are usually a hit!)

  • Puppy Safe Toys
